Band History

Band History

Like a phoenix, To Kill A Messenger rose from the ashes of two self-promoting bands of past, one in particular by the name of Julius. Former Julius drummer, Conor Mulligan, and bassist, Charlie Riddle, teamed up with two musicians of past musical bondage, vocalist Joshua Griggs and David Felts, forming the base product of TKAM. By the third rehearsal, feeling left out, former Julius guitarist Jake Choynowski stopped by for a photo shoot and was intrigued by the promise of such a young band.
The five eventually teamed up in late May, and by early June had the momentum of a train and the desire of a whore, and began to create a sound different than the rest. By late August, the train derailed with the parting of bassist Charlie followed by the partial hiatus of Josh. By November, with Josh's return and the addition of bassist Daniel Choynowski, To Kill A Messenger have finally found their niche with some of the most personal lyrics and songs ever created.
They come in with the whispers and leave you with the screams.
